Our 2010 Newf Friends Calendars are ready to go!

These oversized 12x18 calendars are printed on the same high quality, heavy weight, high gloss paper we have used in previous years, have metal spiral binding across the top, and feature loads of full colour images of gorgeous Newfs. These beautiful calendars are the perfect gift for all of the Newf lovers on your shopping list.

All of the dogs featured in our calendar have either gone through our foster program, or belong to friends and supporters of our rescue. 100 % of the proceeds from the sale of our calendar go directly to HART's Newf Friends Fund to help Newfoundland Dogs in need.

Also available on the HART site is their All Breed calendar, featuring images of some of the gorgeous dogs who have gone through the HART foster program. 100 % of the proceeds of the sale of that calendar go into HART's general fund to assist all breeds of dogs. Great Blue Heron

We have a 10 acre or so marsh on the front of our property. This protected wetland is home to many varieties of wildlife -- from moose to frogs and everything in between. Yesterday I spent some time paddling around the marsh photographing a great Blue Heron that lives there.

Over the course of an hour I inched my way closer and closer to it trying not to disturb it as it went about it's routine of searching for food.

A remarkable hunter, the heron would sneak up on it's prey and strike with great precision, catching a fish or frog with little effort.

Basset Hound Rescue of Ontario Basset Bustle

This past weekend was the Basset Hound Rescue of Ontario's big Basset extravaganza, the Basset Bustle!

Well over 120 hounds came out to romp and play at the off leash park at the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA. Many other dogs joined in on the activities and a great time was had by everyone!

I volunteered my time photographing loads of gorgeous hounds for the 2010 BHRO calendar which will be available for purchase later this year through the BHRO website.

Hounds of all shapes and sizes came out and posed beauitfully for their calendar photos. From 12 week old puppies to 12 year old beauties...each of them were lovely and charming and a pleasure to photograph.

The 12 large feature images for the 2010 calendar have not yet been selected, but rest assured, every Basset that was photographed will be included in the calendar either in a large or small photo. Stay tuned for more info about the selection of the 12 large images for the calendar!

All images will be available for purchase as prints in a variety of sizes with 100% of the proceeds going back to the BHRO. These will be made available through the BHRO website in the coming months.

NDCC National Specialty

This past weekend was the Newfoundland Dog Club of Canada's National Specialty in Gananoque, ON. What better place to catch up with friends, and snap some pictures of some gorgeous Newfs.
